Role summary

As a highly motivated Sales Engineer you will partner with our Account Executives in pre-sales technical activities, showcasing Appspace product solutions, setting up demonstrations, and explaining features and benefits to customers and partners. You must be able to understand the customer’s business needs and use this data to define a solution that not only fits those needs but allows the customer to have scalability and flexibility for future needs.

You must be able to communicate the value of Appspace solutions at both the technical and business level. In addition to technological aptitude, and the ability to learn quickly and stay current, the ideal candidate's interpersonal, presentation and troubleshooting skills should evoke passion and confidence.


 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and sales support for assigned accounts

  • Take the lead on moving opportunities through the sales process from a technical perspective, knowing when to engage other teams for success and closure

  • Perform technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects

  • Assist with the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities, selling at the solution and architectural level.

  • Ability to understand complex customer technical and business situations and identify where Appspace solutions can provide value.

  • Help drive account and partner relationship building

  • Keeping up-to-date on relevant competitive solutions, products and services


Experience, skills, and education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science/Information Technology and/or Engineering fields preferred but not required)

  • 5+ years of professional experience preferred

  • Ability to build strong customer relationships leading to trusted advisor status within customer and partner base

  • In-depth knowledge of baseline pre-sales product and engineering skills

  • Knowledge of relevant solutions sets, product line specifications, performance criteria and applications of use

  • Competitive knowledge (in the area of digital media and content management)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively, add value as a team member and assume a leadership role for the team

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills

  • Prior sales experience preferred; working knowledge/use of Salesforce, Scripting, JAVA programming and Web Development (HTML 5); prior Software/SaaS Company and/or Industry experience
